Skills Sampler

Kids ages 7-12 and their parents and caregivers are invited to join Loveland Public Library and Partners on March 3 from 4:00-5:30 pm for Brainwise: the Ten Wise Ways. The Wise Ways are skills to help children and tweens learn to make good decisions. During this time, you’ll learn what these skills are and how they relate to our everyday lives! RSVP by filling out this form and to receive the Zoom link for the session.

Learn to use your sewing machine to make a simple café apron with Broomfield Public Library and Sew Broomfield on March 13 at 4:00 pm. This workshop is designed for beginner sewists. Pick up your materials at the upstairs reference desk starting the week before the class, then follow along with a demonstration with time to make and connect. The Google Meet link and resources will be delivered in the program reminder email the week before the program.

Find-A-Grave can be an invaluable tool for providing you with information and clues on your ancestors and their extended family. Think you already know Find-A-Grave? Perhaps not as well as you might believe. Join Pikes Peak Library District and Pikes Peak Genealogical Society on March 6 from 1:00-4:00 pm for GETTING THE MOST OUT OF FIND-A-GRAVE. This class will cover all you need to know about Find-A-Grave from basic to advanced functions as well as how you can use Find-A-Grave to help others in their research.

Are you ready to dive into the world of cosplay, but not sure where to start? Join Arapahoe Libraries on March 3 at 4:00 pm for Cosplay 101 with the Cerar Clan of the Mandalorian Mercs, local cosplay group, who will share what cosplay is, how to get started, what to expect and so much more! Be sure to register to receive an email with instructions on how to access this event shortly before your session begins.

Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers
Applications are being accepted for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) grant. This three-year grant allows eligible applicants to establish or expand community learning centers that provide students with academic enrichment opportunities, along with activities designed to complement the students’ regular academic program. CDE will award approximately $5.75 million to centers across the state.

The Clearview Library District proudly presents the Teen Book Box! Exclusively for ages 12-18. Each box will contain a free book as well as other items related to the book or a monthly theme. Register online for this program and we’ll have a Book Box ready for you to pick up at the Windsor-Severance Library during the week of March 1 (and monthly on the first Monday of the month thereafter).

Basalt Regional Library presents Music at the Library: Bach Bash (virtually) on March 18 from 5:30-6:30 pm. Our “Bach Bash” will include solo repertoire from this period performed by Brittni Brown, violin; Sarah Graf, cello; and Susan Nicholson, piano. The program will include movements from Violin Sonata no. 1 in g minor, Cello Suite no. 4 in E flat major, and dance movements from the French Suites for keyboard.

Jefferson County Public Library invites you to an Evening with Isabel Allende: In Conversation with Kali Fajardo-Anstine on March 5 from 6:30-8:00 pm. Allende, a literary legend, social activist, and feminist icon, returns to the art of memoir in her newest work, The Soul of a Woman. Allende’s virtual visit will be enriched by a conversation with Fajardo-Anstine, whose short story collection, Sabrina and Corina, was a 2019 National Book Award finalist.
