Unlocking the Interlibrary Loan Code for the United States

While library standards may not be the most exciting part of our jobs, they do play a large role in directing our positions and responsibilities.  The daily activity of interlibrary loan practitioners is guided by best practices, policies and rules.

The ALA RUSA STARS Codes, Guidelines, and Technical Standards Committee encourages the awareness and application of the ILL Code and its Explanatory Supplement in the interlibrary loan community.  The revision committee recently held a one hour webinar to explore what’s new and what hasn’t changed in the new Code and Supplement, and share an overview of the revision process and feedback received.

To hear about the newly revised Interlibrary Loan Code for the United States and how it establishes principles that govern the exchange of material between libraries, check out the webinar.
