In 1965 voters approved the formation of a new junior college district, and two years later Colorado Mountain College held its first classes in its Leadville and Glenwood Springs campuses. During the next fifty years the college expanded to three residential campuses and eight community campuses. The school has an annual enrollment of about 18,000, and 85% of the students are from Colorado. The college offers numerous Associate and Certificate programs in addition to offering Bachelor’s degrees in five programs.
