The Learning Edge

October 2018 #2

At the October 2018 National Forum to Advance Rural Education in Denver, Jamie Meade, COS of Battelle for Kids , spoke on the importance of hope for students. She referenced Dr. Shane Lopez and GALLUP Student Poll findings that the level of students’ hope for their own future is a more robust predictor of college success than are high school GPA, SAT, ACT scores.  The three-prong approach to student hope includes Agency – Pathways – Goals.    You can find out more about building hope for students at ASCD Publications and educational leadership
