English Learner Educator Training Requirement
New State Board rules require elementary math, science, social studies, and English language arts teachers to complete Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education training:
- Within their next five-year license renewal period (For example, teachers holding a professional license that expires in September 2018 would need to meet the requirements by September 2023.
- Only once over the course of their professional licensure as a teacher in Colorado. For additional information visit PD Requirements.
Grants for Inventions by High School Students

The Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam $10,000.00 grants offer an unparalleled opportunity for high school students to cultivate their creativity and experience invention by inventing technological solutions to real-world problems of their own choosing. The teams are comprised of high school students, educators, and mentors that receive up to $10,000 each to invent technological solutions to real-world problems of their own choosing. Applications are due April 8, 2019.

Teachers, club leaders, homeschool parents, and other educational groups are invited to bring students in grades 5-12 to attend our free CEFF 4 Kids day at the Colorado Environmental Film Festival (CEFF) to be held in Golden at the American Mountaineering Center (AMC) on Friday February 22, from 10 am to 12:30 pm. IMLS Grant Opportunity
The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) has launched a new initiative, Accelerating Promising Practices for Small Libraries (APP), and is accepting grant applications now through February 25, 2019. This new funding opportunity is designed to strengthen the ability of small and rural libraries, archives, and related organizations to serve their communities, and awards sizes range from $10,000 to $50,000.
