APP NEWS

ActivelyLearn provides free interactive assignments/discussions for secondary, 6-12. “Actively Learn helps you quickly find and customize content for English Language Arts, social studies, and science. Teachers can access thousands of free assignments for their classrooms with this free content catalog.”  There are also paid features available, however, you can access their content and create for free, classroom rosters for assignments and integrate these with Google Classroom.

Statistics in Schools (SIS) Week March 2-6

 Statistics in School Week: Everyone Counts!  “brings school subjects to life using real-world Census Bureau statistics to create materials for use year after year at all grade levels.” There are specific activities in English and Spanish and for multiple grades, K-12.  For more information and resources check out their – flyer and roadmap   More resources for students to explore by subject and grade level. There is even a Census 2020 coloring book about Census 2020, available in English and Spanish.

Computer Science Grants Available!

The CSed Grant Program has two grants currently available for application:

  • Computer Science Education Grant application cycle runs through April 10, 2020. Applicants may apply for up to $10,000 of funding.
  • Computer Science Teacher Education Grant – Elementary District Determined Option is open for a second round! The application cycle runs through March 6, 2020. Rock CS May 29-30

Rock CS, Rocky Mountain Computer Science Conference for P-12 Educators, is now open for registration and accepting presenter applications! This two-day event, designed by Adams 12 Five Star Schools & St. Vrain Valley School District,  supports P-12 classroom teachers with teaching computer science (CS) and computational thinking. Trivia-National Clean Out Your Computer Day

National Clean Out Your Computer Day (2nd Monday), is a reminder to do needed care on your computers.  Spend some time with your computer and give it a good cleaning!
Take a look at your files and programs on your computers: Organize your files and folders, delete junk, duplicate & old files and programs not being used. Your trusty computer will run much faster!
