Back in December of 2016, the Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection was added to the resources available via Elephind.com, an international search engine aggregating the collections of more than 2,700 historic newspaper collections from around the world. Elephind.com brings together many of the world’s online historic newspapers into one free search engine enabling users to simultaneously search newspaper sites from Colorado to Australia, rather than individually searching each site. “The goal of Elephind.com is to make it possible to search all the world’s online historic newspapers from one place.” Once you click on a search result in Elephind you will be taken directly to the historic newspaper site that holds that article.
Since December, CHNC has added several hundred thousand more pages of Colorado historic newspapers and now these additional pages are searchable from Elephind as well as locally through the CHNC. We thank our vendor partner, Veridian for updating our Elephind.com holdings, and increasing our international footprint. It takes more than a village to grow the CHNC, and we are grateful to all of our partners who help us grow the reach of this exciting resource.
