Upcoming (FREE) Workshop: Teen Development and Connected Learning in Libraries

As part of the Transforming Teen Services project from YALSA, over the next 2 years, Catherine Boddie from Arapahoe Library District and Beth Crist from the State Library will offer sessions about teen growth and development, connected learning, cultural competence, computational thinking, and more, across Colorado. Take advantage of this opportunity to build and develop services for and with teens that will help guarantee that the adolescents you support have what they need for future success. Watch for these sessions at upcoming conferences (starting with CLiC Grand Junction and Pueblo and the Colorado Teen Lit Conference) and regional workshops!

Registration is open for the first regional workshop (which is in Grand Junction conveniently the afternoon before the CLiC Spring Workshop there): Teen Development and Connected Learning in Libraries

In this very interactive half-day session, explore the importance of connected learning: linking relationships, youth interests, and real world applications for effective youth programming. Get inside the heads of your teens to explore later stages of youth development and how it affects their interactions with the library. Learn about their changing needs and assets. Come away with new attainable ideas for youth programming and language for advocacy. Lunch will be provided! The session is free but registration is required. Click HERE to register by March 11th.
