Pikes Peak Library District launches virtual library card for Colorado Springs students | The Gazette
Colorado Springs School District 11 is the first school district in El Paso County to use new technology from the Pikes Peak Library District to enable students to access books and other resources digitally.
Elementary, middle, and high school students are invited to submit entries for Durango Public Library’s annual Friends of the Library Bookmark Contest. Two winners in each category will receive Maria’s Bookshop gift certificates. 2,000 bookmarks of each winning design will be printed with the artists’ names. Entry forms can be found HERE. Entries must be submitted by September 27.
Amateur writers in grades 4-12 are invited to submit their original flash fiction work inspired by ghosts, goblins, and other ghoulish spirits for Poudre River Public Library’s Spirited Stories Flash Fiction Contest. Winners will be notified prior to the “Spirited Stories” Main Event on October 11, where they will have the opportunity to read their story to the audience or to have someone read it on their behalf. Submissions close at 11:59 pm on September 15.
Delta County Libraries are seeking original writing for presentation at Harvest of Voices, the kickoff event of Mountain Harvest Festival. If chosen, the writer of fiction, nonfiction, or poetry must be available to read their own winning submission before a live audience on September 26 at 7:00pm. All submissions must be received electronically by August 31. Submit a pdf to email@example.com.
