Cures for Cabin Fever
Wilkinson Public Library and The Watershed Education Program present Love Your Backyard. Get to know the delightful flora and fauna of your valley in small group walks on the first Tuesday of every month from 8:00-10:00 pm. Adults only. Sign up at www.telluridelibrary.org.
Start bike season right with Mesa County Libraries’ Get Ready to Ride: Bicycle Fair on May 1 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Check out a variety of bicycle resources and information from local organizations. This community event is a great place to get info on bike commuting, bike maintenance, safe routes to school, health and training tips, bike safety, proper helmet fitting, bicycle registration, and more. Have a mechanic give your bike a safety check, learn the best routes through town, get helmets for the kids, and discover the thrill of bicycling in the Grand Valley — all at no charge!
Unwind after school with Outdoor Improve Games at Anythink Bennett on May 5 from 3:15-4:15. Prepare to be silly and imaginative with your friends and work together as a group to be creative storytellers. Appropriate for ages 7 to 12.
All ages are invited to participate in Poudre River Public Library Districts Outdoor Scavenger Hunt throughout the month of May. Pick up your Outdoor Scavenger Hunt sheet at any library location and enjoy this family-friendly, self-guided activity.
Cinco de Mayo
Pick up a free take-and-make craft from any Garfield County Libraries branch on Cinco de Mayo! Craft kits will include bilingual instructions and all the necessary supplies to make beautiful paper flowers to decorate and celebrate your Cinco de Mayo. Kits are available on a first come, first served basis. Plus, visit the Garfield County Libraries’ Facebook page or YouTube channel for a special folkloric dance presentation by the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet!
