The Colorado State Library is pleased to announce that the Buell Foundation board voted to fund Growing Readers Together (GRT) for another year.  During 2019-20, which will be GRT’s 4th year of operation, fourteen library systems, representing 20 individual library locations, will participate in the grant program. The list of participating library systems during 2019-20 is as follows:

  • Anythink (Rangeview Library District)
  • Cortez Public Library
  • Del Norte Public Library
  • Fort Morgan Public Library
  • Garfield County Public Library District
  • Grand County Library District
  • Gunnison County Library District
  • La Junta/Woodruff Memorial Library
  • Montrose Regional Library District
  • Salida (Southern Chaffee County Library District)
  • Sterling Public Library
  • Westminster Public Library
  • Wray Public Library
  • Yuma Public Library

As a result of participation in Growing Readers Together, each individual library location will receive a grant award of $5,000 to continue their work enhancing the library’s early literacy spaces, programs and services to better support informal child care providers (often known as FFN since care is typically provided by Family, Friends and Neighbors).   Please join us in celebrating the creative and diligent work being done by libraries in GRT as they lead their communities with early literacy services!
